Milo for public computing
The Milo system is a prototype in development at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois. The system is designed to bring major advances to public computing management. The Milo system development road map includes the following features for the first beta:
- Dynamically track problems as they happen
- Automatically issue trouble tickets to administrators, with relevant contact information and system logs
- Inventory computers and labs easily and thoroughly
- Visualize computers, labs and problems on an easy to use map
- Create knowledge sharing systems for newcomers and experienced administrators
- Multiplatform support: Linux and Windows XP
